Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master (“App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the application.
Last updated: November 1, 2026
No account or login. Your question bank, imported PDFs and pictures, notes, bookmarks, test history, exam plans and study time stay on your device — we operate no server that receives them. Scanned pages and photos are read on your device. No ads, no analytics SDKs, and no use of the advertising ID. The App asks for notifications and alarms only for study reminders you turn on, and for the camera only when you scan pages. Free to use with up to 100 questions; an optional Google Play subscription removes the limit. The App goes online only for Google Play Billing and to open these legal pages. Android's own backup may copy the App's data to your Google account, which you control in your Android settings.
01About the App and the Subscription
TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master is an exam-preparation and MCQ question-bank application for Android. It lets you build your own question bank by creating subjects and chapters, importing questions from your own PDF files or from pictures of pages taken with the camera or chosen from your device, practising with mock tests (with a scratchpad and calculator), bookmarking questions, listening to questions read aloud, keeping study notes that can be read aloud, planning your study for one or more exams with daily goals and reminders, reviewing your performance, and printing mock tests.
The App is free to use. On the free plan every feature is available, and your question bank can hold up to 100 questions in total across all subjects. An optional subscription purchased through Google Play removes that limit, so you can import and add as many questions as you like.
Subscription terms are described in section 7 and in the Terms and Conditions.
02Information We Collect
TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master does not require you to create an account or provide personal information such as your name, phone number, or email address.
The App does not collect or upload your question-bank content to servers operated by us. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or processes your content.
Depending on the features you use, information may exist locally on your device, including:
- Subjects and chapters you create.
- Questions and answer options you create or import.
- Imported PDF files or information extracted from PDFs.
- Pictures of pages you scan with the camera or choose from your device, and the text read from them.
- Study notes you import from PDF or text files or pictures, or write yourself, and, for notes imported from a PDF or pictures, a PDF copy of the pages and the position of the words on each page, so the pages can be shown and the word being read aloud can be highlighted.
- Bookmarks.
- Mock-test configurations.
- Test attempts, scores, and performance history.
- Exam plans: the exam names and dates, subjects and hours needed, and daily study goals you set.
- Study time: how long you study in the App each day, by subject, as described in section 10.
- Files you generate from the App, such as printable mock-test PDFs.
- App settings and preferences, including reminder settings.
This information is stored locally on your Android device. It may also be included in Android's device backup, as described in section 4.
03No User Account or Login
TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master does not require registration, login, or a user account.
Because the App does not maintain a server-side user account, we do not hold a copy of your question bank and cannot access, retrieve, or restore your content for you.
Your subscription is tied to your Google account through Google Play rather than to an account with us.
04Local Storage and Device Backup
Question-bank data, imported content, notes, bookmarks, test history, exam plans, study time, and settings are stored locally on your device so that the App can provide its functionality.
The App permits Android's automatic backup feature. This means Android may include the App's data in the device backup associated with your own Google account, and Android may restore that data when you reinstall the App or set up a new device. Whether a backup is created, what it contains, and how long it is kept are controlled by Android and by your Google account backup settings, not by us.
Backups created this way are held in your Google account under Google's terms and privacy policy. We do not receive, access, or control these backups.
You can turn device backup on or off in your Android system settings. If backup is unavailable or disabled, and you uninstall the App, clear its application storage, reset your device, or lose your device, locally stored information may be permanently lost. We recommend keeping your own copies of important content, for example the original PDF and text files you import.
05PDF Files, Pictures and Imported Content
The App may allow you to select PDF files from your device for the purpose of extracting MCQ questions, options, and answers, and PDF or text files to keep as study notes. It may also allow you to take pictures of pages with your device's camera, or choose pictures from your device, for the same purposes.
Selected files are processed on your device for the App's functionality and are not uploaded to a server operated by us.
When a page has no text that can be read directly (for example a scanned page or a picture of a page), the App can read it using text recognition (OCR). Recognition runs entirely on your device, using a recognition model built into the App; the page images are not uploaded anywhere.
When you import a PDF or pictures as a note, the App keeps its own PDF copy of the pages in its private storage so it can show the note's pages, including pictures. The copy is removed when you delete the note.
Photos you take in the App are not added to your device's photo gallery. While you scan, photos and straightened pages are kept temporarily in the App's private cache on your device. Photos are deleted once you have used or discarded them, and straightened pages when you leave the scanner. The PDF made from them for reading stays in that cache until your next scan or until Android clears the cache, unless you keep it as a note. The App does not change or delete the pictures you choose from your device.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to use any PDF or other material that you import.
06Printing and Sharing
The App can generate printable mock-test PDFs from your content on your device.
These files are created on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. If you choose to print or share such a file, Android's share sheet lets you send it to another application or service that you select — for example email, messaging, cloud storage, or a printer.
Once you share a file, the information in it is handled by the application or service you chose, under that provider's own terms and privacy policy. We have no control over, and no visibility into, what you share or where you send it.
07Subscription and Billing Information
TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master is free to use with up to 100 questions in your question bank. An optional subscription purchased through Google Play removes that limit. The subscription is currently offered at ₹499 per year in India and US$10 per year in other countries. The price shown to you in Google Play at the time of purchase is the one that applies.
The App uses subscription information made available through Google Play Billing to check whether your subscription is active and therefore whether the 100-question limit applies. We do not require a separate TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master account for this check.
If a subscription ends, the App returns to the free plan. Questions you already have are not deleted; only adding new ones is limited.
We do not receive or store your payment-card details, billing address, or other payment credentials. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are processed by Google Play.
Google Play processes purchase and subscription information according to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies. We do not control Google's billing systems. Subscription records held by Google Play are retained according to Google's policies and applicable legal requirements.
08Internet Use
The App uses an internet connection only to:
- communicate with Google Play Billing to check or purchase a subscription; and
- open this Privacy Policy, the Terms and Conditions, or your Google Play subscription settings in your browser or the Play Store app, when you tap those links.
Creating subjects and chapters, importing PDFs and pictures (including text recognition), notes, practising mock tests, read-aloud, exam plans, study time, reminders, and printing all work on your device. The App does not send your question-bank content, pictures, notes, plans, or study time over the internet.
09Text-to-Speech
The App may use Android's built-in Text-to-Speech functionality to read questions, answers, and notes aloud.
Text-to-Speech is performed by Android or by the speech service selected on your device. Depending on the speech engine you have chosen and its own settings, that engine may process the text it is asked to speak. TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master does not use this feature to create or maintain a profile about you.
10Study Time, Exam Plans and Reminders
To show your progress against the exam plans you create, the App records how long you study in it: while a study screen (such as a mock test, Read mode, a question, an answer review, or a note) is open and the App is in front, the time is added to that day's total for the subject being studied. Only the date, the subject, and the number of seconds are kept; the App does not record what you do elsewhere on your device.
If you turn on study reminders, the App schedules alarms on your device and, when an upcoming exam's daily goal is not yet met, shows a notification. Reminders are created and shown entirely on your device; no reminder or study information is sent to us or to any other service. If you choose a tune for reminders, the App keeps only your choice and plays it through Android. If you turn on the option to play reminders on silent, the tune plays at alarm volume even when your phone is on silent. While a reminder is scheduled, Android may show an alarm icon in the status bar. You can change or turn off reminders in the App at any time, or tap “Not today” on a reminder.
Deleting an exam plan removes the plan. Recorded study time stays on your device until you clear the App's storage or uninstall it.
11Permissions
On Android 13 and later, the App asks for permission to show notifications, and only when you turn on study reminders. It is used only to show those reminders. You can refuse it, or withdraw it later in your Android settings; the rest of the App works without it.
The App also declares permission to run when your device finishes starting up. This is not a permission you are asked for; Android grants it on installation. It is used only to set your study reminders again after the device restarts, the App is updated, or the clock or time zone changes, because Android clears scheduled reminders at those times.
The App also asks to use the camera, and only when you open the scanner. It is used only to take the pictures of pages you choose to scan. You can refuse it, or withdraw it later in your Android settings, and still choose pictures from your device.
On Android 12 and later, study reminders use the alarms and reminders permission, so they arrive on time even when the phone is idle or its battery saver is active. On Android 14 and later you turn this on yourself from the reminders screen. It is used only for study reminders. Without it the App still works, but reminders may come late or not at all on some phones. The reminders screen may also link to your Android battery settings; changing them is up to you.
The App does not request permissions such as location, contacts, microphone, or storage access.
When you import a PDF or text file, the App uses Android's system file picker, and when you choose pictures, Android's photo picker. You choose the specific files, and the App receives access only to those files — it cannot browse the rest of your device's storage.
The permissions required by the App may change as Android versions and App features evolve. Any such change will be reflected in the App's Google Play listing and, where relevant, in this Privacy Policy.
12No Advertising and No Analytics
The App does not:
- display advertisements;
- include advertising or marketing software development kits (SDKs);
- access or use the Android advertising ID;
- include third-party analytics or usage-tracking SDKs; or
- build advertising or marketing profiles about you.
The App does not track your activity across other apps or websites, and we do not use your information for personalized advertising.
13Third-Party Services
The App interacts with Android platform services and with Google Play services, including Google Play Billing, to provide its functionality. Depending on the features you use, it may also interact with the Text-to-Speech engine on your device, your device's camera, Android's photo picker, Android's notification and alarm services (for study reminders), Android's backup service, Android's print service, and any application you select when sharing a file.
These services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms. Please review the applicable policies of those providers for details about their practices.
14Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Because TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master does not maintain a server-side account or question database, we do not share your question-bank content with third parties through our own servers.
Information processed by Google Play, your chosen Text-to-Speech engine, Android's backup service, or any app you share a file with is subject to the policies of those services.
15Data Security
The App is designed so that your question-bank information stays on your device rather than being stored on our servers, which limits the ways it can be exposed.
However, no device or software environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use appropriate device security measures, including a screen lock and current Android security updates, and take care when sharing files.
16Data Retention and Deletion
We do not maintain server-side copies of your question-bank content, pictures, notes, exam plans, or study time.
You can generally remove locally stored application data through Android's application settings or by uninstalling the App. Specific behavior may vary by Android version and device manufacturer.
If Android has backed up the App's data to your Google account, that backup is managed through your Google account settings, and deleting data on your device does not necessarily delete the backup. You can manage or delete device backups in your Google account.
Subscription records maintained by Google Play are handled according to Google's policies and applicable legal requirements.
17Children's Privacy
TestMaker - MCQ Exam Master is an educational application intended for exam preparation. It does not require an account or login, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The App is free to use, with an optional paid subscription purchased through Google Play. Parents or guardians should supervise a child's use of the App, manage Google Play purchase controls on the device, and review the permissions and services available on the child's device.
18Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, applicable law, or our practices.
The updated policy will be made available through the App or the applicable website, and the “Last updated” date will indicate when the policy was most recently revised.
